About me

Hi, I’m Rebecca — the heart, hands, and camera behind Rebecca Dawn Photos — and we’re heading back to Minot. This place is woven into my story in a way no other duty station ever could be. It’s where I became a mom, where I taught for seven years, and where I first learned just how important community really is. Now I get to bring my photography and doula work right back home to North Dakota families and the incredible military community at Minot AFB.

My photography journey started the way many mom stories do… with my son. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of him growing way too fast, and I wanted to bottle up every curl, dimple, and gummy smile. What started as a mom with a camera turned into a calling. Friends asked me to take photos, those photos turned into sessions, and eventually I traded my classroom keys for a camera strap and never looked back.

Today, I specialize in newborn, maternity, birth, and family photography — capturing the raw, joyful, beautifully chaotic moments that make up real family life in Minot and the surrounding communities.

I love in-home newborn sessions that feel warm and relaxed, maternity sessions that highlight the magic of motherhood (yes, even in the North Dakota wind), and family shoots that bring out your crew’s playful, authentic connection. As a military spouse, I understand how precious these memories are when time together can feel unpredictable. And as a doula working toward second certification, I bring empathy, calm, and care to the families I serve — especially during those once-in-a-lifetime birth and newborn moments.
